BNI is business and professional networking organization that allows only 1 member per profession to join a chapter. Belonging to BNI of Athens is like having dozens of sales people working for you, because all of the members carry several copies of your business card around with them and look for opportunities to refer business to you.
FAQ’s
Can I visit BNI of Athens without being a member? We welcome anyone to visit. You are invited to attend up to 2 of our meetings before we ask that you make a commitment.
Will joining BNI of Athens help my business? BNI is based on founder, Dr. Ivan Misner’s concept of “Giver’s Gain.”By joining BNI of Athens, you become part of a networking community that will work to promote your business so we all grow together. To get the most out of your membership, you should make it a priority to attend all meetings, conduct one-to-ones with your fellow members, and work to pass referrals to others in the group. Also, as soon as possible, complete your Basic Membership Training, and do your 10-minute presentation, so that you can help us understand your business better and find you qualified referrals.
Can anyone join BNI of Athens? BNI only allows one member per category. If you are wondering if your category is open, take a look at our Membership or contact a member of our Membership Committee. If your category is unfilled, we invite you to submit an application and begin the review process, so we can begin passing you referrals as soon as possible.
Do I have to attend every meeting? Because we can only learn more about you when you are present, your attendance to BNI meetings is crucial. BNI is about relationships; we have to get to know you in order to refer business to you. If your attendance is sporadic your referrals are likely to be sporadic as well. Each member is allowed up to 3 absences in a 6 month period, but you are encouraged, upon joining to select someone who can act as a sub for you when you cannot attend a meeting. Having a sub does not count as an absence.
