What’s it called when you’re ahead of your industry curve and have decades worth of happy customers? Community leadership.
If there’s one thing Carl (pictured below) of the Body Shop of Athens knows, it’s cars. But that only scratches the surface. He and his wife, Carla, have been running their shop for years. Yet their efforts transcend just the actual repairs and painting.
For starters, mindful of their impact on the planet, they were the first shop in town to switch to superior, “green,” water-based paints. They also serve as VP of the Automotive Service Administration in Athens and of Georgia, and hold a position on the Athens Tech Advisory Board. They even have their own weekly radio show to keep the town informed about important issues relating to their automobiles.
Carl reflected on all this and more during his recent 10 minute BNI presentation. He also noted their services, including their headlight cover cleaning and repair. He also reminded the group that they always perform free estimates, and their covered, climate-controlled bay ensures you can get one rain or shine.
At the end of the day, for Carl and Carla it comes down to a simple formula: outstanding products and service. Any customer who has found the fresh-baked cookie left in their car at checkout knows they mean it.
