Who is he? “The Water Boy!”
With a hearty cheer, the members of BNI welcomed Matt Fuller of EcoWater of Athens for his ten minute presentation last Wednesday. His trademark “Who am I?!” (“The Waterboy!”) question to the crowd kicked off his talk, and as it always does it pumped up the group’s after-lunch energy level.
An Athens native, Fuller’s life in water started young and humbly, when a family friend offered him a job helping install water filter systems. Over time, Fuller’s industry skills and knowledge improved, and he rose to technician. All the while he listened and learned from his customers, earning their trust and gratitude for a job well done. Then, one fateful day when on a service call for a unit beyond repair, Fuller confidently laid out the customer’s options. Rather than go awry, the situation ended with both the purchase of a new replacement unit and a happy customer. Later, greeted by an inquiring boss wondering what took so long, Fuller explained what happened. The “Water Boy” was born, and the issue became, as they say, water under the bridge.
Since then, Fuller and EcoWater of Athens has served a growing number of residential, agricultural and commercial clients, including the Ritz Carlton on Lake Oconee. Their passion is delivering solutions and superior quality, under the banner of “filtering by subtraction, not addition.”
If you think you or your business needs a water filter to ensure your health, quality of product, and the integrity of your machines, give Matt a call. He is happy to provide free estimates, and will take the time to lay out your options. If there’s one thing you won’t get is a “hard sell.” Fuller, like all of his colleagues in BNI, survive and thrive by their reputation, and would much rather keep you happy than try and pressure you into something you don’t need.
Overall, BNI’s ten minute presentations are helpful reminders that though we see our fellow business professional friends once a week, we don’t always truly know as much about each other as we might think. Ten minute presentations, during which a particular BNI member has an opportunity to share his or her story and explain what they do in greater detail, also offer a glimpse into why they do it. And when you get to the why – the passion, the past, the future- we are reminded why we trust our clients with our BNI partners in the first place.
